POSITION OVERVIEW

Contract Term: 3 Months
Hours: 15 hours per week

Cheslatta Contracting LP is seeking a motivated and organized Communications Support Contractor to assist with community engagement, tracking, and communications development related to the Training and Employment initiative and broader community activities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, creative, supporting internal and external communication efforts to strengthen engagement with community members and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communications and Engagement

    • Support the development and implementation of communication strategies for Labour Market, Training and Employment initiatives.

    • Generate creative ideas to strengthen community engagement and participation.

    • Assist in planning and executing communications for community events and updates.

  • Digital Communications

    • Create, launch, and manage a Cheslatta Contracting LP Facebook page.

    • Draft engaging social media content, including posts, graphics, and updates to highlight project milestones and community stories.

    • Track engagement metrics and recommend ways to grow reach and participation.

  • Administrative and Tracking Support

    • Maintain organized records of outreach, engagement, and communication activities.

    • Assist in tracking information, engagement metrics, and communications outcomes.

    • Prepare short reports or summaries of communications activities and results.

  • Community Liaison

    • Support two-way communication between Cheslatta Contracting and community members.

    • Ensure communications are clear, culturally respectful, and accessible.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with social media management (especially Facebook).

  • Basic knowledge of community engagement or communications preferred.

  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Familiarity with Cheslatta Carrier Nation and the local community.
