CHESLATTA RATIFICATION VOTE 2026
NOTICE OF VOTE
(Updated June 4, 2026)
Notice is hereby given to the electors of the Cheslatta Carrier Nation members that a ratification vote will be held and electors will be asked the following question:
Do you approve the proposed Per Capita Distribution of $5,000 per member, per year, for two years (Year 1 and Year 2) from the IR No.14 Settlement Funds?
“A YES vote means there will be two $5,000 distributions, one in each of Year 1 and Year 2.
A NO vote means there will be no distribution at all.”
All previous Ballots sent in have been destroyed. This is a new Vote.
An Information Meeting will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 starting at 7pm at clarify the purpose of the vote, explain the wording of the ballot question, and answer any related questions from CCN electors. Members can attend remotely through a Zoom link to be posted at cheslatta.com.
To vote in person, a poll will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 9am until 8pm (Pacific Time) at the following location:
Cheslatta Carrier Nation Administration Office
26999 Keefes Landing Rd, Danskin, BC, V0J 2P0
Any electors unable to vote in person at the above location on July 23, 2026 may vote online from the Cheslatta website at cheslatta.com any time between 9am on Friday, July 10 and 8pm on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
An updated voting information package is being mailed to each Cheslatta elector who has provided their current mailing address to the Cheslatta membership department.
Please be sure to vote EVEN IF YOU ALREADY VOTED as we want to ensure that electors have been properly informed before they cast their ballot. The votes will be counted just after 8pm on July 23, 2026 and results will be announced later that evening.

Ratification Vote FAQ
What happens if more members vote no than yes?
If more members vote no than yes, there will be no personal distributions at this time.
What happens if more members vote yes than no?
If more members vote yes than no, each eligible member will receive their distribution. Funds will be distributed the following week after the ratification.
What happens if I personally vote no? Will I not receive a distribution?
Even if you voted no, you’ll still receive a distribution if the vote passes.
