Ancient Spearhead Unearthed on Cheslatta Trail
While on a presence patrol along a historic Cheslatta trail, members of the Vanderhoof 4th Canadian Ranger Patrol uncovered a remarkably well-preserved spearhead, estimated to be several thousand years old.
The artifact was returned to Chief Janet Whitford and Cheslatta Carrier Nation, where it will be preserved and displayed in the Cheslatta Archives for the benefit of our members, youth, and future generations.
We thank the Canadian Rangers for recognizing the importance of this find and ensuring it was returned to the Nation. Discoveries like this are a powerful reminder of the deep history held within our lands.
